Örb Support

Örb is a floating chat orb for your Mac. It answers your questions with Apple's on-device AI, so nothing you type leaves your Mac.

A Mac that supports Apple Intelligence, running macOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on in System Settings.

Örb is grey and says it can't answer.

Apple Intelligence is either turned off or not available on this Mac. Turn it on in System Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. Örb shows a button that takes you there.

Örb is yellow and says the model is downloading.

macOS is still downloading the Apple Intelligence model. Keep your Mac online and plugged in. Örb turns blue when it's ready.

Does Örb need the internet?

No. Answers are generated on your Mac by Apple's on-device model. Örb doesn't send your questions anywhere.

How do I move Örb or keep it on top?

Drag the orb anywhere on your screen. Right-click (or Control-click) it to turn Always on Top on or off, or to quit Örb.

How do I stop an answer or start over?

Click the stop button (or press ⌘.) while Örb is answering. Click the circular arrow to start a new conversation.
