Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Introduction
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit arisphere.net and when you use apps made by Arisphere (Ari Guðmundsson): Whiskly, Baby Monitor Direct, just10k and Playmore. The short version: none of these apps has analytics, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing. Whiskly, Baby Monitor Direct and just10k have no accounts, and the developer does not collect or store your data through them. just10k shows a non-personalized ad from Google AdMob after a walk, and the Free Tools page on this website shows non-personalized ads from Google AdSense. Playmore is the exception: it is a trading app with accounts, so it stores the information you add to it, as described in its section below.
Who Is Responsible for Your Data
The data controller for this website and the apps is Ari Guðmundsson, an independent developer trading as Arisphere and based in Iceland. Iceland is part of the European Economic Area (EEA), so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, through Iceland's Act on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data (No. 90/2018). You can reach me at [email protected].
This Website
This is a static website with no analytics and no user accounts. Every page except Free Tools is free of cookies, advertising and tracking scripts. The Free Tools page shows ads, as described below.
- Hosting: the site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Fonts: text is displayed using Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google, which sees your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
- Ads on the Free Tools page: the Free Tools page, and only that page, shows ads served by Google AdSense. The ads are not personalized. To serve and measure ads, limit how often you see the same one and prevent fraud, Google receives information such as your IP address (and the rough location it implies), browser and device type, the page you're on and how you interact with the ad, and may use cookies or similar storage on that page. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you're asked for your consent before any ads load, and you can change your choice from the privacy settings link on that page. Google's use of this data is covered by its own policy.
- Contacting me: if you email [email protected], I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. I use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you reported, and I don't add you to any mailing list.
Whiskly
Whiskly does not collect any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Your timers and settings are stored only on your device so they survive closing the app or restarting your phone.
- Alarms use local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Deleting the app removes all of its data.
Baby Monitor Direct
Baby Monitor Direct does not collect any personal data. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising or servers of its own.
- Audio: sound from the baby's phone is streamed directly to the parent's phone over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection (WebRTC). It is never sent to us, never recorded and never stored on either device.
- Microphone: used to stream sound from the baby's phone, and the parent's voice only while the Talk button is held.
- Camera: used only to scan the pairing QR codes. No photos or video are taken or saved.
- Pairing: the QR codes contain the technical details needed to connect the two phones, such as network addresses. They are shown on screen and never uploaded.
- Connecting across networks: to find each other, the phones contact public STUN servers operated by Google. Like any internet server, these see your devices' IP addresses. They never receive any audio.
just10k
just10k plans walking loops. It has no accounts and no analytics, and the developer does not collect or store any of your data. It shows a small ad after a walk, served by Google AdMob, as described below.
- Location: used to plan a loop that starts where you are and to guide you around it. To plan a loop, the app sends your start point and a few points around it to the free OpenStreetMap routing server at routing.openstreetmap.de, which returns a walking route. If you search for an address, the text you type is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to look it up. These services are run by third parties under their own privacy policies: the FOSSGIS routing server and the OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim). The app only asks for location while it is open and does not track your location in the background.
- Motion and fitness (step count): just10k reads your step count from your iPhone to work out how many steps you have left today and to count steps during a walk. This stays on your phone and is never sent anywhere.
- Settings: your step goal, height, stride and today's walked steps are saved on your phone only.
- Ads: after a walk, just10k shows a banner ad from Google AdMob. The ads are not personalized, and the app never asks to track you across other apps, so Google does not use your advertising identifier. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK receives information such as your device type, app version, IP address (and the rough location it implies) and how you interact with the ad. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ads load, and you can change your choice under Settings › Ad privacy choices. Google's use of this data is covered by its own policy.
- Sharing: when you tap Share GPX or Open in Google Maps, the route is handed to the app or service you choose. Nothing is shared unless you do this.
- Children: just10k is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
- Contact: for questions about privacy in just10k, open an issue on GitHub.
Playmore
Playmore is a board game trading app, currently in development. Unlike the other apps, it has accounts, because other traders need to see your games and you need to be able to chat with them. Your account and everything you add to the app is stored with Supabase, which hosts the app's database, photo storage and sign-in on the developer's behalf. See Supabase's privacy policy.
- Account: you sign in with your email address, and Supabase emails you a sign-in code. Your email address is used only to sign you in. It is never shown to other traders or used for marketing.
- Profile: your display name and, if you add one, your town. Other signed-in traders can see both so they know who they're trading with and roughly where.
- Your games: each game you list, with its condition, whether it's complete, any notes you write and the photos you take. Other signed-in traders can see your listings. Photos are stored at web addresses that are not password protected, so anyone who has a photo's link can open it. Don't include anything personal in your photos.
- Camera and photos: the camera is used to scan barcodes and photograph your games. If you pick photos from your library, only the photos you choose are uploaded.
- Barcode lookups: when you scan a game, its barcode is sent from Playmore's server to GameUPC and BoardGameGeek to find the game's name, box art and details. If you confirm which game a barcode belongs to, that choice is shared with GameUPC to improve its database. Only the barcode and game are sent, never your name or email.
- Swipes and matches: which games you swipe right or left on. Your swipes are private. When you and another trader both want something from each other, you are matched, and only the two of you can see the match.
- Chat: messages you send in a match are stored so you can both read them. Only the two people in the match can see them.
- Deleting your data: you can delete your listings and their photos in the app at any time. To delete your whole account, including your profile, swipes, matches and messages, email [email protected] from the address you sign in with.
- Playmore has no analytics or advertising.
Children
None of these apps or this website is directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age set by law where you live). Whiskly and Baby Monitor Direct don't collect any personal information. The ads in just10k and on the Free Tools page are always non-personalized, and its route and address requests aren't linked to any person. Playmore requires an account and is not for children under 13. If you believe a child has created a Playmore account or sent me personal information, email [email protected] and it will be deleted.
Data Retention and Security
Data that Whiskly, Baby Monitor Direct and just10k store stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app. Playmore keeps your account data for as long as you have an account and deletes it when you ask for your account to be deleted. Playmore's data is protected by access rules so that private data, such as your email address, swipes and messages, is only available to you and, for messages, the trader you are chatting with. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time.
Legal Bases for Processing
Under the GDPR, personal data can only be used when there is a legal basis for it. These are the bases relied on:
- Providing a service you asked for (contract): your Playmore account, profile, listings, photos, matches and messages, and the route and address requests just10k makes when you plan a loop.
- Consent: showing AdMob ads in just10k, and AdSense ads on this website's Free Tools page, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. You can withdraw consent at any time, under Settings › Ad privacy choices in the app or from the privacy settings link on the Free Tools page, without affecting anything that happened before.
- Legitimate interests: delivering and securing this website (Cloudflare and Google Fonts), and replying to emails you send. You can object to this; see Your Rights below.
None of the apps or this website makes automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Service Providers
Personal data is only shared with the service providers named in this policy: Cloudflare (website hosting), Google (fonts, AdSense on the Free Tools page, STUN servers for Baby Monitor Direct, and AdMob in just10k), OpenStreetMap services (just10k routing and address search), Supabase (Playmore hosting) and GameUPC and BoardGameGeek (Playmore barcode lookups). Each one receives only what it needs for its part of the service. Providers that process data on my behalf, such as Supabase and Cloudflare, do so under data processing terms that require them to protect it to the same standard as this policy. Personal data is never sold, and it is not shared for advertising, apart from the non-personalized ads in just10k and on the Free Tools page described above.
International Transfers
Some of these providers, including Cloudflare, Google and Supabase, may process data outside the EEA, for example in the United States. When they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognized under the GDPR, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in each provider's terms.
Your Rights
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you and get a copy of it
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete your data
- Restrict how your data is used, for example while a correction is checked
- Object to data being used on the basis of legitimate interests
- Data portability: receive your Playmore data in a common, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another service
- Withdraw consent at any time, where data is used based on your consent
- Complain to a data protection authority. In Iceland that is Persónuvernd, but you can also contact the authority where you live or work.
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. Personal information is not sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising.
In practice, these rights apply to your Playmore account data and to emails you have sent, since the other apps don't collect personal data. For data Google receives when just10k shows an ad, see Google's policy linked above. To make a request, email [email protected]. I'll reply within one month, and I may ask you to confirm the request from the email address linked to your account.
Third-Party Links
This website and the apps link to other sites, such as the App Store, GitHub and Google Maps. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
